hybrid seminar seriesThermal imaging reveals consistent physiological responses to experimental stressors across wild populations
June 9, 2026 | 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm (GMT+1)
Sally Westworth is a third-year PhD researcher at Liverpool John Moores University. Her work draws on wild animal welfare, animal physiology, and behavioral ecology to study physiological responses to environmental change in free-living animals.
Using non-invasive thermal imaging, Sally measures eye-region surface temperature to investigate how ecological stressors shape physiological state under natural field conditions. Her research aims to improve how welfare-relevant physiological change is measured in wild animals, providing a scalable approach for studying ecological stress, chronic physiological strain, and wild animal welfare across species.
